Mexican Currency

This Mexican currency design showcases the three deities: Quetzalcoatl, Cipactli and Tezcatlipoca, who intervened in the creation of the universe, according to one version of the creation in Aztec mythology. In addition, the turquoise mineral, amber, and “Mexican Pink” inspired the color palette because of their rooted tradition in the Mexican culture. Throughout the bills, other mythological elements are showcased such as the sky view of the city of Teotihuacan because the Aztecs believed that the gods created the universe at that site.
